Tips for Dealing with Panic Attacks while Driving

Do you usually have high anxiety every time you are in the road? You don't have to suffer anymore because there are ways to handle your body if you are at the verge of panic attacks. You don't really need expensive medication. You can do it naturally without side effects.

Panic attack is an abrupt rush of irresistible fear that that comes without admonition and without any clear reason. It is far more powerful compared to having anxiety or the unpleasant feeling that is normally connected with restlessness, fright, or be troubled.

Panic attacks don't happen abruptly. In fact, from the moment you enter your car, the panic attack is already creeping its way out of your body. You might felt a little sweating and chills. You might not notice it but your anxiety level is already increasing gradually. The anxiety level will increase dramatically especially if you have a lot of fears that are associated to cars and roads. If you don't handle it immediately, you will pop like a bubble.

Try to understand your body reaction and if you notice some signs of panic attack, stop for a while and do a little relaxation exercises. If possible, stop near some trees so the air is much fresher. Open your window and breath fresh air so that there is enough oxygen for your brain to function normally. Do deep breathing for at least 5 minutes or if you think the symptoms are gone.

If you are not comfortable of walking out, do a positive affirmation. For instance, think that you are the master of the road and everyone fears your presence. The road is your friend and not your enemy. It brings you to your destination. Your destiny is your own making and if you choose, everything will be just fine.

Finally, a little distraction might help. Entertain yourself while on the road. Turn on the music and think about the people waiting for you at the end of your journey. On the road, you can listen to a close friend or family's voice. As an alternative, listen to a professional voice. - 30415
