Panic Attack Prevention in Children - Is It Possible?

By Garyl Hany

As parents, the main reason why we keep on living is our children. Our child is our person, our life and our soul. We are happy if they are happy and we suffer if they suffer. And if they get panic attacks, our world seems to shatter pieces by pieces and the pieces are sometimes difficult to put together again. We can't continue to live like this but we can stop panic attack from hitting our children.

Panic attack is a result of the accumulation of stress and to stop panic attack, you should stop the stress from building up. Most often, stress accumulates due to uncomfortable environment especially if the child comes from dysfunctional or broken family. If this is your case, learn to adjust your life according to your child situation. Be there when your child needs you to and always make your child feel loved.

If possible, make them feel they are the only things that matter to you. This way your children will feel much more comfortable with the people around them and the situation they are in. Children seek constant knowledge about life, people and emotion. They can't grow up maturely if they lack knowledge and the ability to cope under extreme situation. So, at a young age, teach your child how to cope up especially after the divorce. Talk to your children and don't forget to tell them that it is not their fault that the divorce happened.

Parents also have to spend quality time with their children. Children are very vulnerable creatures. They usually seek guidance, comfort and understanding. If they got no one to turn, they get more prone to anxiety or panic disorder. A constant reminder that someone is always there to help them can help children live to the fullest.

On the other hands, they get stressed out if they feel constant fear of being alone and neglected. We should not let our children feel neglected. Even though we give them too many toys, children would still feel unloved in our absence. The greatest gift we can give to our children is our constant love, understanding and comfort we bring.

If you can't avoid being away from your children, find a trusted friend or family as a guardian. Guardians may substitute for you so that your children won't feel alone. Let them socialize with other children at their age as early as possible. And let them play and interact with other kids at a playground. - 30415

The Link Between anger And Depression

By Rhys Jones

Anxiety and depression are almost certainly the causes of uncontrollable anger. When a person is constantly worried about problems they have no control over or even problems they do have control over, it often results in depression. If you feel that, there is no way out then your depression can affect your life and cause you to drift down into a spiral of despair.

Taking control of your emotions produces good results. If you feel that the world is crumbling down then you are probably thinking in a negative way, which instigates depression and anxiety. In this article, we will reveal some techniques to help you cope with anxiety and depression, thus relieving uncontrollable anger.

First, let us examine the symptoms. Do you feel like you are going out of your mind? Do you shout in your head: 'I can't take it any more?'. Do you feel like everyone is out to get you? Do you think people view you as a crazy person? If you are suffering any or all of these symptoms then you are probably suffering from some form of anxiety and depression.

If you can not find a way to think differently, then you will probably explode when your emotions soar and your anger bursts forth. Instead of telling yourself that you are out of your mind, why not tell yourself that you are temporarily emotionally disturbed and that you need to resolve the situation. Review all the problem areas carefully and search your memory to see if there are answers to your problems there. Reviewing like this, often opens doors to resources you may have overlooked.

If you feel like someone is out to get you then you may have a chemical imbalance or a mental illness. Why not go to see your doctor or a mental health expert to learn more about your symptoms and find a way to regain control of your life. Anxiety and depression can play tricks with your mind but sometimes the thoughts are a result of a lack of chemical balance.

If you think that people think you are going mad, you might want to remember that most people have their own problems and don't have time to analyze you as a person. When you walk into a room and think that people are staring at you, you might want to remember that all people observe the things around them, checking to make sure that everything is OK around themselves before returning to their own little lives.

If you feel like you cannot take it any longer, pick up your torture stick and walk another mile. When times are difficult, it does not mean it is the end of the world, although sometimes it may seem this way. If you are struggling to pay bills, fighting to hold a family together, or having difficulty with your children then remember we all have these problems at some time in our lives.

Are your children driving you nuts? If they are, take time out. Go do something entertaining or exercise. This often relieves the stress that leads to anxiety, depression and anger. Life is too short to worry about the things you do not have control over. If you have problems, the answers lie within you, so it pays to look into your mind.

If you are struggling to obtain your goals then you might want to break your goals down to smaller segments and work slowly to achieve them. If you set goals within reason, you will not need to stress your mind finding a way to achieve them.

It is important to treat yourself each day. Learn some relaxation techniques that will benefit both your mind and your body. If you feel overwhelmed, you might want to take deep breaths 10 times.

Curling up on a couch and watching a favorite movie can benefit your mind and body, if you want to let your thoughts wander. Learn to focus on what you are doing instead of worrying about what you are not doing. This often clears the mind and helps you to relax.

If you are subject to sustained anger, you will most likely have problems for the rest of your life unless you learn to take control of your emotions. Remember that depression leads to uncontrollable anger. - 30415

Are Panic Attacks A Severe Medical Issue?

By Greg Anderson

Yes, panic attacks are very serious and they typically grow more serious over time.

The feelings that sufferers experience when they are having a panic attacks are truly scary: Feeling as an asthma attack is coming on, feeling that the heart is beating so fast that a heart attacks is imminent, and even physical pain in any part of the body can occur with a panic attack.

Being unable to get air will typically make the lungs burn in pain, and the abdominal discomfort can be severe enough to feel like being repeatedly punched. While the physical symptoms are painful and completely miserable, the psychological ones can be even worse. Feelings of impending doom, thinking death is imminent, or that a psychotic break is happening are all too common for those who suffer panic attacks.

Most people who suffer from panic attacks say that they would go to nearly any length to avoid having the attacks happen, but they simply do not know how to prevent them. Panic attacks may not cause major long term physical damage, but the mental and emotional damage can be quite severe.

It is actually quite common for the physical effects of panic attacks to be so severe that patients will end up in hospital emergency rooms or at urgent care centers, fearing they are going into cardiac arrest, having a severe asthma attack, or having a nervous breakdown.

Sadly, it is not uncommon for doctors in emergency rooms to act as if panic attacks are not a big problem, and send the patients home with no resolution for their problem. This can really make patients feel like their problem is not worthy of consideration.

Panic attacks should be recognized as the genuine medical problem that they really are. With other medical issues, treatment may be as simple as taking the proper medication, but panic attacks just do not work that way. It is really important that panic attacks are not just handled on a case by case basis; It is best to prevent them entirely.

Programs such as Panic Away prevent panic attacks. Since this program's primary aim is to retrain the brain so that it is not allowing the "fight or flight" response to occur at all the wrong times, Panic Away can not just teach you how to deal with panic attacks when they happen, but to stop them from plaguing you ever again. - 30415

Some doctors actually tell panic attack patients "it's all in your head, nothing serious" in a dismissive manner and end up making the patient feel truly hopeless.
